Minecraft Java/Bedrock Roll-Out

Mud Club Is Leveling Up, Starting October 6

Mud Club is growing—and so is our gameplay! As our gaming community grows and develops, our tools must also evolve. That's why we're making a significant shift this fall: we're transitioning away from Minecraft Education and fully migrating to Java/Bedrock Edition.

Here's the why, how, and what to expect as we move towards the future of gaming at Mud Club.

💡 Why the Shift?

While Minecraft Education has served us well, we've outgrown it. Our members are ready for bigger adventures, better performance, and fewer tech hiccups.

Benefits of Java/Bedrock Edition:

  • More reliable connections and less downtime

  • 🚫 Reduced lag

  • 🔁 Improved performance for larger player numbers

  • 🌍 Bigger worlds, more features, and custom gameplay

  • 🧩 Mini-games and advanced multiplayer experiences

🗓️ Rollout Timeline

Here's what to expect over the coming weeks:

  • October 6Sessions and streams move to Java/Bedrock Edition. Creative and Survival worlds—Crafter's Cove and Brave Burrow—will be hosted on our Java/Bedrock Clubhouse Server.

  • October 31 – We say goodbye to Minecraft Education as we officially retire it across all Mud Club programming.

If your child has been using Minecraft Education, it's time to switch over to Java/Bedrock!

🌍 What's Coming in the New Clubhouse Server?

The Clubhouse Server will now host:

  • 🧱 Crafter's Cove (Creative)

  • 🌿 Brave Burrow (Survival) — Player inventories will be reset, but all builds and chests will remain

  • 🌍 New Survival World - a brand new survival experience for the Clubhouse to adventure in

  • 🏘️ Towny Survival World — an advanced world already live and full of possibilities

  • 🎉 Mini-Games — including Soccer, Block Party, Murder Mystery, and Spleef

  • (Mini-games rotate regularly, so stay tuned for new releases!)

🌿 Brave Burrow Is Moving (and Getting a Fresh Start)

Brave Burrow has been a long-time favourite for survival gameplay, but as we shift to Java/Bedrock, it’s also getting a new role. Starting October 6, Brave Burrow will retire from Clubhouse Stream and become a therapy sessions-only world.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • All builds will remain accessible in the Java/Bedrock version
🧹 Player inventories will reset during the transition, so be sure to store precious items
🧠 OTAs will guide gameplay to support goals like collaboration, planning, and flexibility

This shift keeps Brave Burrow alive for structured, supported play while making room for a brand-new survival world in Clubhouse Stream — ready for fresh exploration and team challenges ahead!

🛠️ How to Make the Switch

✅ Parents have already been emailed if we don't yet have a gamertag for their child. If your member has not yet registered a Java/Bedrock Gamertag, we'll need one before they can get started.

💻 Mud Club has gifted Java/Bedrock PC/Mac licenses to all active members requiring one.

📲 If your member plays on an iPad, Android tablet, or Chromebook, just email us, and we'll provide a gift card instead via the appropriate app store.

📚 Setup instructions and how-to videos are available in the Minecraft Java/Bedrock section of the Mud Club HQ channel in Teams.

👀 What Will the Transition Feel Like?

The most significant change will come the week of October 6, when OTAs and Stream begin hosting all Creative and Survival worlds on Java/Bedrock. However, don't worry—we'll walk every member through it in sessions and via live stream. You'll be joining new worlds, learning new menus, and leveling up your Mud Club experience step-by-step!

🆙 Onwards and Upwards

We're excited to start this new chapter in Mud Club! Moving to Java/Bedrock means more possibilities, smoother gameplay, and a stronger online community. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to level up, together. 💚
