Empathy Champions: Building Connections in Gaming
This week at Mud Club, we’re practicing empathy — the ability to understand and share in the feelings of others, both on and off the screen. 💜 Members will look for moments to connect, support, and celebrate each other, building the kind of community where everyone feels seen and valued.
This Week’s Activities
🏡 Build Challenge — SkyBlock City
⛏️ Survival Quest — Biome Expedition
🕶️ Quest VR Spotlight — Among Us
🎥 Stream Adventures — Island Survival
🧰 Weekly Tool Idea — Create Your Own Board Game
💡 Why This Theme Matters
Empathy is the foundation of every strong relationship, and gaming offers a unique space to practice it. When kids take the time to notice how a teammate is feeling, offer encouragement after a tough round, or recognize when someone needs support, they’re building the emotional intelligence that deepens friendships and strengthens communities — in the game and in real life.
Ways to Support at Home
Talk about a time when someone made your child feel supported — what did they do?
Encourage them to check in with a teammate or friend this week — a simple “are you okay?” goes a long way
Reflect together on a moment when they understood how someone else was feeling
Model empathy at home — name feelings out loud and show curiosity about others’ experiences
Try Asking Your Child
“Was there a moment this week where you noticed how someone else was feeling — what did you do?”
“How does it feel when someone on your team really gets you?”
The games we remember most aren’t always the ones we won — they’re the ones where we felt truly connected to the people we were playing with. This week, your child is building those connections. 🎮💜
