Communication Power-Ups: Collaborating Effectively in Games
This week at Mud Club, we’re powering up our communication skills — learning how to share ideas clearly, listen well, and work together toward a common goal. 💜 Members will practice the kind of in-game collaboration that makes every team stronger, both on screen and in real life.
This Week’s Activities
🏡 Build Challenge — Build a Mario Kart Course
⛏️ Survival Quest — Cave Hunters
🕶️ Quest VR Spotlight — Loco Dojo
🎥 Stream Adventures — The Skeleton King has stolen the Book of Bones
🧰 Weekly Tool Idea — Customizable Gaming Keyboard
💡 Why This Theme Matters
Clear communication is one of the most powerful tools a gamer — and a person — can have. Whether it’s calling out a strategy, asking for help, or checking in with a teammate, practicing these skills in a game environment builds the confidence and habits kids carry into friendships, classrooms, and beyond.
Ways to Support at Home
Ask your child how they communicated with teammates during a game this week
Practice active listening at home — give your full attention when they’re telling you about a session
Talk about the difference between directing and collaborating — both have their place
Encourage them to try saying what they need out loud, even when it feels awkward
Try Asking Your Child
“What’s something you said to a teammate this week that really helped?”
“What’s one thing that’s hard about communicating during a game?”
Great teams aren’t built on talent alone — they’re built on communication. This week, your child is discovering that speaking up, listening well, and working together are some of the most powerful moves in any game. 🎮💜
