Conflict Resolution: Navigating Disagreements in Games

Disagreements happen — especially when players have different ideas, strategies, or expectations. This week, members will practice pausing before reacting, communicating their perspective, listening to others, and finding ways forward together. 🤝🎮

This Week’s Activities

🏡 Build Challenge — Dragon Valley
⛏️ Survival Quest — Take Turns Leading
🕶️ Quest VR Spotlight — Among Us
🎥 Stream Adventures — The Sunken Bell
🧰 Weekly Tool Idea — Would You Rather? Card Game

💡 Why This Theme Matters

Conflict isn’t necessarily a sign that something has gone wrong. Learning how to navigate disagreement gives kids opportunities to practice emotional regulation, perspective-taking, flexible thinking, and self-advocacy — all while maintaining relationships.

Ways to Support at Home

  • Encourage a short pause before responding when emotions are high

  • Help your child separate disagreement from personal rejection

  • Practice phrases like “I have a different idea” or “Can we try both?”

  • Focus on repairing conflict rather than avoiding it entirely

Try Asking Your Child

“What helps you stay calm when someone disagrees with you?”

“How can two players solve a problem when they both want something different?”

Learning to disagree respectfully is a powerful social skill — in games, friendships, school, and everyday life. 🎮💜
